Teaching Faculty
  • Dr. Molly Bassett graduated from Marshall University as a Yeager Scholar, attended Harvard University for her Master of Divinity, and recently completed the Ph. D. in Religious Studies. She recently accepted employment in the Religious Studies department at Georgia State University. 
  • Roger "Mike" Burr returns to GHA for the seventh consecutive year.  A graduate of GHA 1996 and Marshall University, he has taught in California for the past three years, and he recently accepted a position teaching in a science magnet school in Atlanta.  
  • Dr. Ben Campbell is a research engineer at the Penn State Electro Optics Center, holds degrees in Physics (BS), Electrical Engineering (MS) and Engineering (PhD).  His research involves applications of lasers for manufacturing, specializing in laser-material interactions with ultrashort pulses. 
  • Henry "Hank" Hampton graduated from Bethany College four years ago. He immediately went to work for the college as the supervisor of student employment where he spent two years managing a program that allows students to earn their tuition through career development positions.
  • Dan Hollis is a tenured professor at Marshall University and has taught at GHA since 2002.  In addition to teaching journalism and broadcasting courses, he supervises the MU Report, the school's TV newscast, and developed the first cross-media journalism class at Marshall. 
  • Dr. Jay Libby is an assistant professor of communications and electronic media at Bethany College and has a rich background in television and video production.  He has managed the medical photography department for a large hospital in California, worked with students to produce a DVD electronic yearbook, and was involved in the web production of a literary magazine.
  • Dr. Erich Lippman is a professor at Bethany College. In addition to speaking Russian, German, and Modern Greek, Dr. Lippman earned degrees in History, Philosophy, Modern European History, and Russian History.
  • Dr. Sekhar Mamidi started his education in general studies at Rutgers University. He received both the BS and the PharmD at West Virginia University, and he is currently an assistant professor of Pharmacy Science at Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy.  But before that, he was an RA at GHA from 2001-2003.
  • Jennifer Manor
  • Rachel McGuire is a Fayette County native and an alumna of GHA.  She fell in love with languages at an early age and has continued that study as a recent graduate from the University of Maryland.  
  • Patrick Raney is a graduate of Bethany College, where he majored in Environmental Science and minored in Botany. In 2007 he completed a master of science degree in Environmental Management from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.  Patrick is currently working on his Ph.D. in Conservation Biology at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY.  Patrick was recently named a National Geographic Young Explorer in support of his research investigating the impacts of climate change on rare plant communities in New York state.  This is his second year of teaching at GHA, and he is far superior to both Heather Taylor (except on burger run nights) and Henry "Hank" Hampton.
  • Eric Reynolds 
  • Fujiko Sawtarie is a native of Japan who is currently working with an international team at Bethany College that has also traveled to several public schools to teach cultural awareness workshops.
  • Dr. Nicole Sheets is a GHA alum of 1994, and she recently completed the Ph.D in English from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
  • John Shirley has been affiliated with GHA since 2000, when he began as a Resident Assistant.  He has also served as an administrative assistant in addition to a full-time faculty member.  He earned his MFA from Mary Baldwin College. 
  • Heather A. Taylor is a fabulous, fun-loving Bethany graduate who took over GHA 2009 with her delicious baked goods and catchy songs.  Additionally, she is superior to Henry "Hank" Hampton.  
  • Sachiko Wood is a native of Japan who is currently working with an international team at Bethany College that has also traveled to several public schools to teach cultural awareness workshops.
